Trivia

A trivia quiz game played on your TV, with your phone as the controller.

Trivia is a quiz for one to eight players. The room votes for a category, the questions appear on the big screen, and everyone answers in secret on their own phone by tapping the shape that matches their answer. The questions get harder as the round goes on, and the last one counts double.

How to play Trivia

  1. Before the first question, three categories appear and everyone votes on their phone. The category with the most votes is played; a tie is settled at random.
  2. Each round has five questions, from easy to hard, with twelve seconds each. The question and the four answers are on the big screen; your phone shows four coloured shapes.
  3. A right answer scores 1,000 points, plus up to 300 for answering in the first half of the time. Answers in under one second get no speed bonus.
  4. Every right answer in a row adds 100 more, up to 300. If you are the only one who got it right, you get 200 more. The last question counts double.
  5. After each question the big screen shows who picked which answer, the fastest right answer and the scoreboard.

Four coloured shape buttons that match the four answers on the big screen. The Aa button shows the answer text on the phone as well.

Tips

  • Being right matters far more than being fast: a right answer is worth 1,000 points and speed at most 300.
  • Keep your streak going. The bonus grows with every right answer in a row.
  • Solo games keep your best score on that screen, so you can try to beat it.

Start Trivia in three steps

  1. Open ourconsole.in on a TV or laptop and press Host a game.
  2. Connect each phone to the same WiFi and scan the QR code on the screen.
  3. The first player picks Trivia from the menu on their phone.
