An alternative to AirConsole and Jackbox
AirConsole and Jackbox made the idea popular: one shared screen, and phones as the controllers. Our Console is a smaller, free take on the same idea that runs entirely in the web browser.
What is the same
- The game is shown on a TV, laptop or projector
- Each player uses their own phone as the controller
- Players join by scanning a code, with no controllers to buy
What is different about Our Console
- All 21 games are included, with no purchase and no subscription
- No app and no account, for the host or for the players
- Phones talk straight to the screen over your own WiFi, which keeps the delay very low for racing and football
- 12 of the 21 games can be played alone, and 8 of those add computer opponents
- Games from Indian homes: Carrom, the Kerala card game 28, Housie, cricket, and dumb charades with Malayalam, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and English films
- A tournament mode: five games, each picked by a vote on the phones, and one champion
When the others are the better choice
Our Console has 21 games. AirConsole and Jackbox have much larger catalogues. Our Console has a few drawing and writing games (Sketch It, Fake Out and Odd One Out); they have many more. If you want a wide library, or you play with people who are not in the same room, one of them will suit you better.
Our Console is made for people in one room on one WiFi network who want to start playing within a minute.
