Party games to play on a TV with your phones

The easiest party game setup is one screen everyone can see and one phone per person. Nobody has to bring controllers, and guests can join in seconds. Our Console has 21 games built for this, for up to eight players.

Games that work best with a group

  • Most Likely To: everyone votes in secret for the player who best fits a prompt, then guesses who the room will pick. You score for the votes you get and for right guesses. 3 to 8 players.
  • Hot Bomb: holding the ticking bomb earns points, but it blows at a hidden moment. To throw it, pick a player and cut the right wire. Everyone has two lives, and the most points wins. 3 to 8 players.
  • Fake Out: write a fake answer to a strange true fact, then find the real one. You score for the truth and for every player your fake fools. 3 to 8 players.
  • Sketch It: one player draws a secret word on their phone while everyone else types guesses. 3 to 8 players.
  • Odd One Out: everyone gets the same secret word except one player. Give clues in turn, then vote out the Odd One Out. 4 to 8 players.
  • Act It Out: dumb charades with films, in two teams. The other team picks the film you act. 4 to 8 players.
  • Mafia Night: secret roles on every phone and the TV as the narrator. 5 to 8 players.
  • Trivia: the room votes for a category, then answers five questions in secret, from easy to hard. The last question counts double.
  • Housie: the TV calls the numbers and everyone marks their own ticket on their phone. 2 to 8 players.
  • Snake Arena: up to eight snakes on one board for 60 seconds. A crash only costs you a few seconds; your longest length plus 5 per KO wins.
  • Turbo Circuit and Goal Rush: 3D racing and football for people who want to compete.

Tournament mode for a whole evening

Press Play for a tournament of five games. Before each one, everyone votes on their phone between three games. Points from every round add up, the last round counts double, a scoreboard is shown after each game, and the final podium shows the champion. A tie on points goes to the player with more round wins.

The first player to join runs the room from their phone. They can hand that role to someone else at any time.

Setting it up in a minute

  • Open ourconsole.in on the TV or on a laptop connected to it, and press Host a game.
  • Ask everyone to connect to the same WiFi and scan the QR code.
  • Each person types a name. The first to join presses Play.

Tips for hosting

  • Use a laptop plugged into the TV if the TV browser is slow.
  • Start with a quiz or Most Likely To: the rules take ten seconds to explain.
  • A player whose phone disconnects is out of that game and can join the next one, so nobody holds up the room.
